05 Jan 2022 StoryWalk® at Hummel Park
“[A] StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Laminated pages from a children’s book are attached to wooden stakes, which are installed along an outdoor path.”

What is the StoryWalk® at Hummel Park?
A StoryWalk® presents a picture book page by page along a trail or path, which families read while moving from display to display. The StoryWalkⓇ at Hummel is a partnership between PGTPL and Hummel Park and is sponsored by the Duke Energy Foundation, the Hendricks County Community Foundation, and the Friends of the Library.
The StoryWalk® at Hummel begins at the playground and follows the trail towards the Splash Pad. The displays include a complete picture book with early literacy activities to enjoy together and a list of suggested books to read after you’re done! A new title will be featured every month throughout the year, including interactive stories and books that connect with local and seasonal themes.
