09 Jan Home Delivery Services for Families
Did you know that, if you live in Guilford Township, the Children’s Room will bring books to you?
What is Home Delivery?
We offer two different types of home delivery services: collection kits – which are one-time deliveries you can request as frequently as you like – and recurring home delivery service, which sets you up to receive library materials at home every single month!
Both services provide a variety of items selected by youth services staff based on criteria you provide, such as a specific topic or theme, general interests, and the ages and/or reading levels of the recipients.
Collection kits are perfect for when your family is sick and you’re bored with what you have at home but don’t want to spread germs to others.
They’re also great for when you’re getting ready for a trip out-of-town and want things to read during your travels, but you might not have time to squeeze in a library visit before you go. Request a collection kit a few days in advance, and we’ll bring everything right to you!
Teachers and home educators love collection kits, too, because library staff gather a selection of age-appropriate books on whatever subject they’re studying and deliver them to your home or school.
You can also order one just because you want to do so!
How to Request
To request a home delivery collection kit, simply fill out the form on our website and specify where you would like it delivered in the “Special Requests” section. Please give us at least 48 hours to fulfill your request.
You can also become a part of our recurring home delivery service, where every month we will bring you a smaller selection of materials based on interests and reading levels. Items for both children and adults may be requested this way, so you can set it up for the whole family.
This is an excellent resource to utilize if you’ve just had a new baby, for example, or any other time when you are struggling to get to the library but want to make sure you stay stocked with books!
