Elizabeth Lim was born in San Francisco and currently resides in New York with her family. She was raised on fairy tales and myths and began writing her own fan fiction at the age of 10. She has composed music for films and video games and has even received a doctorate in music composition. She graduated from Harvard with a B.A. in music and a secondary degree in East Asian studies. She received her graduate degree from the Juilliard School, according to Lim’s personal blog. She is the author of the Six Crimson Cranes duology, Her Radiant Curse, and has authored several books in the Disney Twisted Tales series.

Six Crimson Cranes
As the youngest and only princess of Kiata, Shiori’anma is loved by her family but expected to marry to strengthen her family’s position. Unfortunately, there are two major problems with that. One, she does not wish to marry and leave her family behind, and two, she has a secret: forbidden magic in her blood. When it goes out of control, it appears to be a blessing, causing her betrothal to be called off, until it draws the attention of her powerful stepmother. Now, she and her brother are cursed, and to free her family, she must embrace the magic she’s been taught all her life to fear.

Channi was not born a monster; she was made into one. Across the island, she is feared, and the cruel call her demon spawn. The kind tell her she is beautiful deep down, like her sister. But she is nothing like her sister, who is famous for her radiant beauty. The only one who treats her with love and kindness—who doesn’t see a monster—is her sister, Vanna. When Vanna is to be married off in a contest to fill their village’s coffers, Channi will use all her strength and cunning to defend Vanna from the cruel suitors, even if it makes her an enemy of the only world she’s known.

The dance is over, the bell has struck midnight, and Cinderella has returned home. She had the most magical night of her life, full of wonders. For a few glorious hours, she was able to escape the hardships of home and even meet a charming stranger. But then she hears that the grand duke is on the hunt for the mysterious owner of a glass slipper. It looks like she may get her happily ever after, after all. However, she can’t prove the slipper is hers and can no longer bear her stepmother’s treatment. With a fresh start, Cinderella begins work as a seamstress in the palace, appointed to serve the king’s visiting sister. She finds life in the palace is not at all like a fairy tale. Bearing witness to prejudice and intrigue, Cinderella must find a way to stop villains both past and present before her time runs out.
