18 Sep Banned Books Week 2014:
Read something you’re not supposed to during Banned Books Week, September 21-27. Our friends at Downtown Comics have sponsored several free, awesome events for all ages this week to celebrate Banned Books Week.
Banned Books Week Bookmarks:
All week long (Sept. 21-27) in area T teens are invited to create a bookmark to help save a spot in their banned book!
Graphic Novel, Manga, & Comic Swap:
Comic book lovers of all ages are invited to trade their comic books, graphic novels, and manga in the lobby on Tuesday, September 23, from 3-7pm. Can’t make it the day of? Drop it off at the library to Kate Bragg any time before hand.
Comic Coasters:
Bring your favorite comics or use some of ours to make a set of 4 drink coasters to take home with you. Join us Wednesday, September 24 at 6:30 for this free program. Don’t forget to register.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower:
Stephen Chbosky’s banned book “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is also now a hit movie! Join us Thursday, September 25 from 6-8pm for this free film screening. Feel free to bring your own snacks to enjoy. Don’t forget to register.
Superhero Training Camp:
Boys and girls ages 4-7 are invited to attend Superhero Training Camp on Saturday, September 27 at 2pm. Practice being helpful by rescuing a baby trapped over a hot lava pit! Practice being strong by lifting enormous weights! Decorate and name your superhero self, and enjoy a super-strengthening snack! Don’t forget to register.
