20 Nov Early Chapter Books: Scholastic Branches
What are “Branches” books?
When it comes to early reading, bridging the gap between picture books and chapter books can be daunting. This is where “Branches” books come in! Published by Scholastic, Branches books are a line of early chapter books that are designed specifically for readers who are gaining confidence in their reading skills but may be intimidated or not ready for longer books.
These books are made to make reading fun and build excitement for transition to chapter books. The accessible vocabulary, simple sentence structures, and illustrations encourage confidence in young readers. There are also a variety of themes and storylines from solving mysterious to exciting adventures and exploring magical worlds– there’s something for everyone!
The Branches books in the library are easy to spot. They all feature the Branches logo on the spine. You can find them in our chapter books section under the call number J FIC.
You can use this Evergreen list to see which Branches books we have or which ones are available to put on hold from a different library.
