11 Dec Happy Birthday, Indiana!
Today is the 197th birthday of our fair State! Though Indiana’s territorial representatives had applied for statehood back in 1812, a little war at the time – which resulted in the burning of Washington, D.C., a failed invasion of Canada, the writing of our National Anthem, and a fantastic song about the military uses of alligators – pushed aside the Indiana statehood question to a later date. Once the dust had settled from the War of 1812, Indiana was ready for its census, Constitutional convention, and Congressional approval. Here are some books to help you celebrate Hoosierdom!
