Did you know that you have free access to many apps through the library, just by using your library card? Here are some apps and databases that can be used by and for kids!
Library Apps
Libby
Libby is a free app that offers free eBooks, digital audiobooks, magazines and read-along books for kids through our library. Patrons can stream titles with Wi-Fi or mobile data, or download them for offline use and read them anytime
Hoopla
Hoopla is a free app that offers free borrowing of audiobooks, eBooks, e-audiobooks comics, movies, TV, magazines, or music. You can use it with a computer, phone, car, or even TV. Hoopla syncs across all your devices.
Kanopy
Kanopy is a free app that offers free access to a large choice of movies and series with use of your library card. Movies can be enjoyed on your TV, mobile phone, tablet and online. Part of Kanopy includes Kanopy Kids, which is a collection of movies and shows for kids available in the physical library. Kanopy Kids movies and shows have unlimited plays at the library.
Freegal
Freegal Music is a free app through the library. You can download and/or stream music on any compatible device. There is a large children’s section, including albums, songs, artists and playlists.
Databases
Scholastic GO!
Scholastic GO! is a free database designed for kids and provides content on most core-curricula subjects at school. It offers several resources for research in many types of media such as nonfiction texts, world newspapers, videos and more.
Scholastic Teachables
Scholastic Teachables is a free database designed for parents, caregivers, and educators. It includes a large collection online of ready-to-go lessons and activities for every grade, subject, and skill level. You can search by subject or theme easily and there are many topics to choose from().
