04 May Reopening – Limited Access
Reopening plans
The library will reopen on Monday, May 18th with reduced hours and limited access. Our new operating hours are:
Monday-Friday 9-6
Saturday 9-2
Sunday 1-5
We will operate on this schedule through June 1 and review. These hours are subject to change at any time. Access to the library will be limited to the outside porch and lobby.
Restricted services through June 1:
- Computer access by appointment only
- Faxing, printing, copying pickup
- Reference services by phone or email
- Curbside holds pickup
Stay tuned as we add more services, like home delivery and pickup!
Please also note that all items currently checked out are not due back until July 1. There is no urgency to get them back to us. Overdue fines are not accruing on these items. You may return items to the drive up dropbox only beginning Monday, May 11.
Curbside service
The library will begin curbside service on Monday, May 11. Patrons may place items on hold through the Evergreen catalog. You can also call (317-839-6602) or email to place a hold if you’re not comfortable with the catalog. Once your hold is ready, library staff will call and arrange a pickup time!
The outside drop box will also be opened on May 11; you may begin returning your items at the drop box then, but don’t be in a hurry! All items you have out have been extended until July 1.
We will also offer curbside document services – faxing, scanning to email, copying. Look for more details on these services soon.
Construction
Aside from the pandemic, which has necessitated changes in procedures and access around the library, there’s still quite a bit of construction happening around the building! Meeting rooms are not yet ready for occupancy, finishing touches are being added to the public restrooms, and a large portion of the quiet study area is still being updated.
