28 Aug Racial Equity Grant
The Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library won a grant!
The library has seen a dramatic rise in demand for materials about racial equity, fighting for civil rights, and the experience of African Americans both past and present. Wait times for books in our current collection have been six months long or longer. We have also seen a demand for titles we do not yet have that address racial injustice and the fight for equity. The Indiana Humanities, in coordination with funds from the Lilly Endowment Inc., has awarded funding to the library to help meet the demands of our patrons and help advance racial equity. Through the racial equity grant, we will be able to purchase nonfiction titles, literature, and documentaries about the fight for racial justice. Keep your eyes peeled for our new titles. They will be in our collection soon!
