The Indiana Room of the Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library maintains a local obituary database and card file. Names are continually added to this database. This database is a duplicate of the library’s in-house Hendricks County, Indiana Obituary Card File. Information for both the database and card file is recorded from local newspaper obituaries or death notices. If you have any questions about the index, contact us by e-mail (askindiana@plainfieldlibrary.net) or phone (317) 839-6602 ext. 2114.
Please note: The Obituary Database provides some online access to obituary records (we’re uploading the current obits and will add retro as time permits). The Obituary Database provides references to the published obituary located in the newspaper microfilm collection. You may request copies of obituaries.
The index includes Plainfield and Hendricks County obituaries which were gleaned from the Plainfield and Hendricks County newspapers in the library’s collection. The newspaper collection spans from 1847-current.
