20 Jul Summer Reading Club: Teen Wrap-Up
Summer Reading Club was wildly successful this year thanks to the 346 teens in grades 6-12 who signed up and participated! Celebrations for those who finished the 21 hour reading log were wrapped up in the after-hours completion party on Saturday, July 14. Seventy-two teenagers stayed at the Library after it closed at 5 p.m. that day and were able to eat pizza and snacks, participate in an escape room, play giant board games, experience virtual reality on the HTC Vive, create crafts, and sing karaoke. The winners were also announced for the six teen raffle prizes, including a gift card to Hot Topic and the grand prize, a Nintendo Switch.
Thank you to everyone who made this summer so fun by completing reading log levels, participating in programs, and spending time at the library. One-hundred and thirty-five teenagers completed their reading logs, and a total of 3,290 hours were read by teens participating in the Summer Reading Club. With how great this year’s program was, it is hard not to look forward to next summer!
