08 Apr TumbleBooks Brings Books to Life!
Would you like your child’s screen time to promote literacy and encourage a love of reading?
We have an app for that!
Your PGTPL library card gives you access to TumbleBooks, which is a digital collection of books featuring narration, music, and animation that bring the stories to life! Many of the books read aloud to your child while highlighting the words being read. This allows your growing reader to follow along, seeing how new words are pronounced and hearing what it sounds like to be a fluent reader.
The collection includes not only picture books and early readers, but also chapter books at a variety of reading levels and classic children’s books such as Anne of Green Gables and Treasure Island. It has fiction and nonfiction, as well as graphic novels. Some books are even available in Spanish or French!
TumbleBooks is user-friendly enough for children to navigate independently and interact with books that interest them, regardless of their reading level. It’s a fun, engaging way for children to expand their vocabulary and practice their reading skills.
It can also be used by caregivers as an alternative to other screen time activities, or a way to share quiet time before bed when a parent is too exhausted to read out loud to their child themselves.
Teachers can even use it in the classroom for group read-a-longs! Additional resources for teachers or homeschoolers include lesson plans, common core standards, and comprehension quizzes to maximize the learning potential.
Simply visit our website or download the app, log in with your library card credentials, and watch and listen as a world of books comes to life!
